Walks from the Crown & Anchor

SHORT

Three village walks of less than 2 miles.

MEDIUM

From 2 to 5 miles.

LONGER

Up to 9 miles.

LONG

To outlying towns and villages.

Even the short village walks can involve muddy tracks, so be sure to wear appropriate footwear, and waterproofs if rain threatens.

All of the routes follow legal paths and by-ways, many of them historic. It is important that we follow simple practices while walking: closing gates, not leaving litter, making sure our dogs are kept away from livestock and game – if in any doubt, put on a lead – and keeping to paths, especially on arable farmland. Be aware that ticks are prevalent in this area.

Observing these rules, and using common sense, helps preserve the pleasure of walking through open country for future generations.
